York House has excellent facilities with a lovely patio and also separate reception rooms. There are two styles of bedroom: the original converted convent rooms which are decorated with period furniture and more recently renovated modern rooms. We had the former which was spacious, quiet and clean ... the bathroom was a little oldfashioned and also the cupboard but the beds were very comfortable and overall we were very happy. Delicious and plentiful breakfast with everything you could wish for! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed otherwise we would have eaten in on several occasions. Great transport right on the doorstep and several good restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Staff and breakfast were outstanding! We unfortunately were unaware of the number of stairs involved which can be problematic to us. As I descended from our room on the floor above the lobby entrance I missed the bottom step causing me to fall on my R knee. It wasn’t serious and the staff were very attentive. It did limit my mobility comfort however. Although the location is wonderful and very charming we didn’t venture far afield during our brief 36 hour stay. We love Lisbon every time we return. I certainly would recommend the York with the inclusion of the accessibility issue.

Breakfast was excellent & offered a good variety. We opted to sit inside as the courtyard was still a bit chilly, though there were blankets available for guests to sit outside in the courtyard. It was a nice touch, that we only learned of on our last day, that there are complimentary drinks & pastries as an afternoon snack. The hotel upgraded our room, without our asking, to a room with a sitting room. The hotel also gave us wine & dried fruits to celebrate our 50th Anniversary. Really loved the decor.

The hotel (converted from an old convent) was very nice, and the courtyard was very pleasant - it was great to be able to sit outside to have breakfast or a peaceful evening drink. The room was comfortable and spacious. Although the hotel is away from the heart of the city, there were some nice local restaurants nearby, and it was not far to the nearest tram stop.

Excellent service, including the reception team, who all spoke English. Plenty of choices for breakfast, all well stocked, including scrambled egg, bacon, tomatoes. Snacks, such as a toasted sandwich, are available until 2200 in the courtyard, including alcohol. It is a good walk into the centre, say 20 minutes and a few inclines to overcome but not significant.
